Recently returned from studies in Cambridge and Amsterdam, organist Jonathan Lee performs Bach’s extraordinary set of canonic variations on the Christmas chorale Vom Himmel hoch, da komm ich her (‘From Heaven Above to Earth I Come’). Framed by Buxtehude’s exuberant Nun freut euch lieben Christen g’mein and Franck’s monumental Troisième Choral, From Heaven Above is the organ in full splendour.
