Bringing together great beer, mouth-watering BBQ paired with authentic German snacks, live music, games and competitions, and one unforgettable day.

Why not make a long weekend out of the event. The Awanui Hotel has motel accomodation, and amazing beaches 30 minutes in any direction. Check online and make a reservation while we have space.
On the Day:
You arrive just after midday, get yourself a drink, eat BBQ and German-inspired food, drink great beer & wine made in the Far North of New Zealand, dress up, sing along to live bands, join games and competitions, and stay until late.
This is a social, high-energy festival designed for groups of friends who want to eat, drink, dress up, and have a bloody good time.

Live music from The Little Oompah Band
MC & DJ all day long: DJ Trey
Games and competitions including Hammerschlagen (nail driving into a tree stump) , and Masskrugstemmen (the grueling beer stein holding contest), eating contest and Tug of War.
Best Dressed Oktoberfest Costume Competition - Dressing up is strongly encouraged.

Important:
All ages are welcome to attend. Anyone under the age of 18 MUST be accompanied by their parent/guardian.
Valid ID required for service.
No pets allowed
Security and bag checks operate at entry
Security staff on site throughout the event.
Unsocialible behaviour is not accepted and culprits will be removed from the venue.
Weather:
The event goes ahead in most weather conditions.
There are umberellas in the garden bar and spaces which provide shelter from rain.
Expect grass and possible mud in wet weather.
We recommend bringing rain jackets and suitable footwear.
Parking is available at the venue for a gold coin donation, supporting the Awanui Rugby Team but we encourage you to take advantage of our curtesy vans and Te Hiku Go Taxi Service.
