Queer Book Club December: 'Clear' by Carys Davis - First Session

Wed 2 Dec 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Imprints Booksellers, Adelaide

Queer Book Club is hosted by Cera (They/Them)

For our December book club I have decided to keep it short and sweet to end of the year on a positive note.

We will be reading 'Clear' by Carys Davis; set during the 1800's clearances of the Scottish islands, 'Clear' follows Ivar, the sole inhabitant of a small Scottish Island who is troubled one day when he finds a man washed up on his shore. This is where we meet John, sent to kick Ivar off the island by it's owner. The relationship that forms between the two is unexpected but sure to warm your heart.

Tickets are $15 OR use code RAINBOW5 to get your ticket for $10 if you will be purchasing, or have purchased, the book from us at Imprints.

Light non-alcoholic refreshments will be provided on the night.

Hello everyone! Cera (they/them) here to make some new announcements about Queer Book Club.

I'm looking forward to meeting some of you this upcoming Wednesday and to continue our 'Taiwan Travelogue' talks into November.

Starting from December we are going to be running both book club sessions on the same night. Tickets will be available at the same time and you will be able to choose a preferred session time. More details about when the next tickets will be available is to come.

Welcome to the page for Imprints Booksellers Queer Book Club. Our aim is to make Queer Book Club as welcoming and accepting for everyone as possible, there are no requirements to join our Queer Book Club other than interest in reading queer stories. It is our mission as a LGBTQIA+ book club to ensure we cover a range of perspectives and stories within the queer community. This club will focus on the many facets to queer literature by crossing genres, stepping a little into non-fiction, reflecting on classics, and prioritising queer voices. I look forward to conversations about the importance of queer perspectives, the history of queer rights, and all good the love stories that happen in between.
