Nourish Workshop Series: Taste of Lebanon Part Two with Houwaida Elabde

Wed 24 Mar 5:30pm - 7:30pm

Colac Secondary College, Geelong

WHO YOU WORK WITH

Houwaida Elabde is the driving force behind the Lebanese-inspired dishes at Future Cafe. Her first workshop sold out in 24 hours, so be quick if you'd like to come along to part two.

Future Cafe is an institution in Colac with regular lines out of the door, and with good reason because the food is fresh, filling and flavoursome!

It is a meeting place for locals to gather to connect and be nourished.

WHAT YOU MAY LEARN

Roll up your sleeves to cook alongside Houwaida for a workshop where you'll learn a few of her favourite kitchen secrets and create delicious Lebanese dishes together.

Important to note that the recipes are not known until a few days prior to the workshop.

The workshop is suitable for creatives, beginners, foodies or anyone interested in embracing new skills to try at home.

WHAT YOU NEED

Please BRING YOUR OWN CONTAINERS to the workshop, and wear comfortable shoes for standing for the duration of the workshop.

WHO ARE WE

Farm My School is a not-for-profit organisation that collaborates with schools to promote healthy eating, ecological stewardship and connected communities. Farm My School transforms underutilised school lands into regenerative market gardens to nourish, educate and connect its local communities.

The Farm My School Nourish workshop series has been designed to help families unlock affordable ways to grow and cook simple, nourishing food. Run by renowned chefs, food makers and our own Farm My School team, the workshops are designed to encourage simple and practical ways to think about food growing, health and wellbeing.

WHAT ELSE DO WE DO

Participants work with regeneratively grown, fresh, seasonal produce that has been harvested on the day off the farm.

Produce is available to purchase via our weekly or subscription veggie boxes.

We also offer an education program, incubator traineeships and team building experiences.

This is more than a farm – this is a food hub built for community, connection, education and sustainability!
