Of Human Bondage is a 1915 novel by the English writer W. Somerset Maugham. It is widely considered to be Maugham's masterpiece. This coming-of-age story follows Philip Carey, an orphan with a clubfoot, as he navigates a tumultuous journey toward adulthood. Of Human Bondage is the most autobiographical of Maugham’s works and shows a sensitive young man’s battle to eliminate the constraints imposed on him so that he may live freely.

The group previously read, and enjoyed, his novel The Razor's Edge in 2021.

We meet in the ‘Games Room’, The Library bar's private area overlooking Courtenay Place. After you enter the bar, head to your right (up the step) and through a smaller space with booths to the large carpeted space beyond (behind the big wooden sliding door).
