Improv For the Stage

Thu 15 Oct 7:30pm - 9:30pm

Wellington High School, Wellington

Extend your skills in the joy and art of improvisation and step boldly onstage. This course is for those who have completed a beginner course or have other relevant experience.

Laugh, play characters, get them into trouble (and out again!), and see how your skills translate into confident performance.

This is the W.I.T. Level 2 course and will take your improv to the next step beyond the confidence-building of our Joy of Improv and on into collaborative spontaneous theatre creation.

The course is suitable for those who have completed a foundation course either with W.I.T. or another improv troupe or have some theatrical experience or training.

By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:

Create characters and stories in open scenes

Play and perform several classic improv games

Stay positive and enjoy failure

Use improvisation terminology to discuss story, character, comedy, theatre, and think about performance (your own and others)

The course will end with a show for invited friends and family.
