How often do UNSW's different campus communities actually cross paths?
Held as part of UNSW's Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Diversity Festival, Co.Campus is a one-off collaborative art activation bridging the geographic and social distance between UNSW's Kensington and Paddington campuses. Over four hours, students and staff are invited to contribute to a growing outdoor artwork, through beehive wax, sand candles and personal messages, each a reflection of identity, belonging, and connection. As contributions accumulate, the pieces evolve into a living artwork of UNSW's diversity and shared identity.
Every participant also makes their own layered sand candle to take home. Glasses are provided, or bring your own small jar (up to 250ml) to give it a second life.
Guided by Artist Rose He, a Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate from UNSW Paddington, the completed installation will be documented and may find a permanent home on campus as a lasting symbol of cross-campus unity.
