What makes for a great short story? This masterclass is designed as an extension opportunity for high potential, gifted and/or passionate writers in Stage 4 (year 7 and 8) to deep dive into characterisation, tension building and editing their work. Led by the professional writers in the Story Hunter team, this workshop guides students to write their own “flash fiction” with original characters, interesting narratives, and compelling endings.
Students are required to be accompanied by a teacher (no charge for teachers) and supervised during breaks. Tickets are currently capped at 20 per school to allow multiple schools to have the opportunity to attend, however, additional students may be added to the waiting list on request - please contact Emma at storyhunter@newcastlewritersfestival.org.au for more information.
