"Sitting Pretty" at Ata Rangi

Fri 13 Nov 4pm - 8pm

Ata Rangi Winery, Wellington

Remember the original Toast Martinborough? Multiple vineyard visits, beautiful wines, and those long, progressive lunches that became part of the tradition? At Ata Rangi, we’re bringing a little of that magic back for one special evening.

Join us for Sitting Pretty - a sunset session celebrating Ata Rangi’s place in the old Toast Martinborough story, when our site was a stop on the festival circuit and Ruth Pretty’s much-loved food was part of the experience.

In collaboration with Rose & Smith, we’re revisiting some favourite dishes from Ruth Pretty’s menus of years gone by. Think whitebait fritters, asparagus with hollandaise, long-stemmed chocolate dipped strawberries, white crockery, linen napkins, cutlery, and the pleasure of taking your time over good food and a glass or two of Ata Rangi wine. It’s a nod to the familiar flavours and fond memories of yesteryear, and a good reason to make a few new ones.

Settle in amongst the vines, as the afternoon gives way to evening, with a relaxed yet festive atmosphere. Enjoy Ata Rangi wines, delicious food, great company and live music from Pat For President.

Whether you’re joining us to revisit a piece of the Toast Martinborough of old, or simply looking for a fun way to kick start the weekend ahead of Toast Martinborough (at The Runholder the following day), Sitting Pretty is an invitation to relax, raise a glass and celebrate where it all began.
