Ugandan Australian comic and poet Anisa Nandaula’s unique point of view and experiences fuel

the fresh new perspective she’s bringing to the local comedy scene and beyond.

Born in Uganda in 2001, Anisa moved to Australia when she was eight and grew up in

Rockhampton.

Anisa cut her teeth through spoken word. Winning the 2016 Queensland Poetry Slam and coming

runner up in the Australia Poetry Slam Championships. This is where she discovered her love of

performing and used this momentum to break into comedy in 2020.

Tok, Instagram and YouTube pages, where her clips have been viewed over a hundred million

to observations about navigating Australian society while black and back again.

Anisa has performed on Channel Ten, SBS, ABC and at the iconic Sydney Opera House and

supported Chelsea Handler during her Australian tour, further solidifying her presence in the

comedy scene.
