📍 The Joyful Place

Part of our World of Wonders (WOW) school holiday series, this hands-on 2-day camp invites children to explore global cultures through food, stories and play — no passport required.

Namaste! This time, we’re heading to Delhi.

Across two days, children will step into the colourful world of Delhi’s bazaars and discover the city through its food, art and childhood play.

🌟 What children will do

DAY 1 – Learn & Explore

• Discover Delhi, its bustling bazaars and food culture

• Make Aloo Paratha (आलू पराठा / Potato-Stuffed Flatbread) for lunch

• Blend their own Aam ki Lassi (आम की लस्सी / Mango Lassi)

• Explore Indian textile traditions and create their own block-printed fabric artwork

• Play childhood favourites including Pitthu / Lagori (पिट्ठू / लगोरी / Seven Stones), and Kanche (कंचे / Marbles)

DAY 2 – Create & Own

• Mix, pipe and make Jalebi (जलेबी / Indian Spiral Sweet), with adult assistance for frying

• Revisit savoury cooking with more independence

• Play more childhood games and challenges

• Work in teams to create and run their own Delhi bazaar food stall

• Design their stall, menu and team roles before preparing, presenting and “selling” their food

• Recap childhood games

⏰ Half-day vs Full-day

Half-day (10:00am–1:00pm)

• Cultural learning

• Cooking one key dish

• Eating together

Full-day (10:00am–4:00pm)

Everything in half-day, plus:

• Drink-making

• Creative art

• Childhood games and challenges

• Independent cooking

• Bazaar stall roleplay and challenges

Afternoon-only bookings are not available, as afternoon activities build on morning learning and shared routines.

*Recipes can be made vegetarian (but include eggs and milk)

🧺 What to bring

Day 1: Please pack a snack and fruit box and a labelled drink bottle for your child. Lunch is prepared as part of the program.

Day 2: Please pack a light lunch and fruits and a labelled drink bottle for your child. As the recipe they are making in the morning will be sweet, some kids prefer to have a savoury option for lunch, they can have the morning dessert for afternoon tea.
