A STAR IS BORN IN ŌREWA

Celebrating the extraordinary career of Temuera Morrison

On 12 December, Ōrewa will take centre stage as we honour one of Aotearoa New Zealand’s most celebrated actors, Temuera Morrison, with the unveiling of his very own star on Ōrewa Boulevard at 4.00pm.

For decades, Temuera Morrison has captivated audiences with performances that have crossed cultures, generations and continents. From the raw power of Jake “The Muss” Heke in Once Were Warriors, to the legendary Jango Fett and the voices of the clones in the Star Wars universe, and Thomas Curry in Aquaman, Morrison has created characters that have become part of global popular culture.

He has also left an enduring mark on Aotearoa television as Dr Hone Ropata in Shortland Street, while bringing the iconic bounty hunter Boba Fett to a new generation through The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

Now, a career that has taken him from the stages and screens of New Zealand to some of the biggest productions in the world will be celebrated right here on the Hibiscus Coast.
