Join us in the lead-up to the Tasmanian Nature Festival for a special nature experience!
This event is open to all levels of experience; you are new to birding or simply curious to slow down and notice the birds around you. Suitable for teens and adults.
We will begin with a soft grounding exercise and a nature connection activity, helping participants arrive fully in the present moment and tune into the sounds, movements and rhythms of the surrounding birdlife. These practices are calm and meditative, encouraging a sense of stillness, awareness and connection.
Following this, we will spend time quietly observing birds in their natural environment - listening, watching and noticing behaviours, calls, colours and interactions. Gentle prompts will be offered to support your awareness and deepen your experience, however this is a relaxed and self-guided process.
Please note: This is not a formal bird identification class. It is an invitation to slow down, observe and connect with birds in a mindful, non-judgemental and welcoming space. No prior birding knowledge is required.
Attendees are advised to bring:
A bottle of water.
A notebook or journal if you would like to jot down observations.
Binoculars (optional but encouraged if you have them).
Dress appropriately for the weather conditions.
