Californian hardcore band DRAIN return to Australia in February supporting their latest album, ...IS YOUR FRIEND. The Sydney programme presents the band’s high-energy live show, described as a communal hardcore celebration in which the division between performers and audience dissolves. Formed in 2014, DRAIN grew from a Santa Cruz DIY scene fostered by frontman Sammy Ciaramitaro’s coffee-shop shows. Their 2020 debut California Cursed preceded a rapid rise in live reputation; by 2022 they headlined Sound and Fury’s opening night. Their 2023 album Living Proof expands their sound with punk and thrash elements alongside hardcore.
