Umberto Clerici conducts a nature-inspired programme with cellist Anastasia Kobekina and electric guitarists Bryce Dessner and Zane Banks. Ligeti’s Concert Românesc brings colourful, folk-inflected writing, followed by the Australian premiere of Dessner’s Trembling Earth, a cello concerto shaped by nature’s renewal and resilience. Dessner also performs in St. Carolyn by the Sea, whose string chords and guitar lines evoke cinematic and post-rock textures. Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 completes the concert with birdsong, rustic dances and melodies celebrating Bohemia’s natural landscape.
