Queer By Nature: Spring Equinox Gathering

Sun 20 Sep 9:30am - 12pm

The Gleeson Centre, Melbourne

The equinox is a threshold moment. Day and night held in equal measure, briefly poised before tipping into something new. There is something quietly powerful about pausing at exactly that point, and that is what this workshop invites.

This month, Queer By Nature draws on the myth of the phoenix to explore transformation, shedding, and what it means to be somewhere in the middle of becoming. Through a guided meditation, time in nature, and individual and collective creative process, participants are invited to mark whatever threshold they find themselves at; something already crossed, something approaching, or simply the feeling of being mid-way through something.

What to expect:

A grounding meditation drawing on themes of shedding, allowing, and moving toward light

A ritual threshold crossing

Solo connection time in the parklands

Individual creative process

A collaborative group piece built from everyone's contributions

A gentle closing circle

No art experience needed. Light refreshments and art materials provided.

This is an inclusive, neuro-affirming space. Participation is always by invitation – everything is optional, and you can engage in whatever way feels right for you.

Standard ticket: $40 (+ Humanitix fee)

Supported rate available – please use the code QBN2026 at checkout if this supports your access.

Come join us in co-creating a morning of queer belonging, creativity, and connection with the living world.
