YAMA FUNK FEST 2.0 is bringing the funk, soul, rhythm and good-time spirit of the Family Stone straight to the dancefloor. One love. One groove. One nation under a groove..

Leading the charge is KARAKA ORCHESTRA, led by Argentinian composer and multi-disciplinary artist Chucho Bruno. Afrobeat, jazz, soul, Latin grooves and cinematic psychedelia collide in a completely improvised live experience. Chucho conducts the band in real time through a unique South American sign-language system — meaning no set list, no two shows the same, and no telling where the groove is going next. This is the SWEET SWEAT SET — part concert, part ceremony, part full-body dancefloor takeover.

Then T H U M P (Big Band feat. Alyson Joyce) bring the funk!

A vintage-meets-modern funk & soul powerhouse featuring some of Australia's finest groove musicians, T H U M P are all about feel-good music, deep grooves and keeping the funk alive on the good foot. Sunshine Coast born and bred, the band draws from the masters — James Brown, Sly & the Family Stone, Marvin Gaye, Parliament/Funkadelic, Donny Hathaway and Herbie Hancock — while bringing a fresh modern edge influenced by Lettuce, D'Angelo, Robert Glasper, Kamasi Washington and Jon Cleary.
