WORLD PREMIERE

KA TŪ, KA ORA—STAND STRONG, LIVE WELL

From the team that brought you The Legend of Okatia.

We’re incredibly excited to bring the world premiere of Ka Tū, Ka Ora – Stand Strong, Live Well to Manawatū!

Created by composer Kane Parsons as the awardee of the 2025/26 SOUNZ Community Commission, this powerful new multilingual choral work brings together youth and community voices in te reo Māori, English, and Samoan, celebrating resilience, hope, connection, and collective wellbeing.

The event will also feature The KaRs—Kane Parsons, Regan Taylor, and Anasi’i Jerome Leota—performing songs from their new Resilience album, alongside Malamalama Moni Aoga Amata, performing their latest waiata, and the powerful voice of Milana Mariu-Reade.

Local schools will also join together to perform Ka Tū, Ka Ora, making this a truly collaborative celebration of our young people and our diverse communities.

One community. Many voices. One powerful message.

Ka Tū, Ka Ora — Stand Strong, Live Well.
