Avoca Beach, this is your chance to see On The Fence on the big screen.

After years of filming across Australia, On The Fence is coming to the Central Coast for a special one-night-only premiere screening at Avoca Beach Theatre.

Spanning thousands of kilometres and featuring some of Australia’s leading dingo researchers, conservationists, First Nations voices, livestock producers and people living and working alongside dingoes, On The Fence takes audiences deep into one of Australia’s most complicated and fiercely debated wildlife stories.

At the centre of the film is the 5,600-kilometre Dingo Fence — one of the longest structures of its kind in the world. On one side, dingoes remain an important part of functioning ecosystems and hold deep cultural significance. On the other, their presence can have very real consequences for livestock producers and rural communities.

Rather than telling audiences what to think, On The Fence explores the history, science, culture and conflict surrounding Australia’s largest land predator — and asks what the future of the dingo might look like.

Following the screening, there will be a Q&A, giving audiences the opportunity to continue the conversation and explore some of the ideas, stories and questions raised by the film.

There will also be a chance on the night to purchase a selection of limited-edition photographic prints and exclusive On The Fence merchandise, available especially for the film’s screening tour.

The event will help support the independent national rollout of On The Fence, taking the film beyond the major cities and into regional communities around Australia — including places where conversations about dingoes, conservation and coexistence are happening every day.
