Monsieur Camembert’s Cohen Noir reimagines Leonard Cohen’s songs alongside his poetry and prose. The ensemble draws on jazz, tango, Latin, folk, klezmer and cinematic orchestration, while incorporating Cohen’s recorded voice, poetry and humour. For the Perth performance, Monsieur Camembert is joined by iOTA, Diana Rouvas, Lyn Bowtell, Susie Bishop, Daniel Weltlinger and Bukhu, whose contribution includes Mongolian throat singing and horse-hair fiddle.
