Two compelling Australian songwriters share the stage for a special double-bill performance, bringing together indie roots, folk, alt-country and Americana in The Nook’s intimate listening room.

Dan Cully is a Melbourne-based multi-instrumentalist whose music draws inspiration from vast landscapes, mountain streams and the mysterious forces that shape our world. Armed with guitar, harmonica, didgeridoo, stomp box and soaring vocals, his solo performances carry the power and energy of a full band.

Often likened to Xavier Rudd and John Butler, Dan has toured extensively throughout Australia, sharing stages with Deborah Conway, The Weeping Willows, The Pierce Brothers, 19 Twenty and Eskimo Joe. His debut album, All in Sweet Time, moves between intimate, earthy folk and expansive, atmospheric sounds while maintaining a deep connection to the natural world.

Kate Mahood has songwriting roots planted deep in the Australian red dirt. Blending folk, alt-country and Americana, she weaves evocative storytelling, stirring vocals and beautifully crafted guitar melodies into a sound that is both intimate and unmistakably her own.

Kate has shared the stage with Busby Marou, Harry Manx, The Whitlams and Alex Lloyd. Her song Little Finch was shortlisted for the 2025 Environmental Music Prize, while her latest single, Waves, offers a dreamy and ethereal first glimpse of her forthcoming album.

Together, Dan and Kate offer an evening of heartfelt songwriting, rich musicianship and music inspired by nature, human experience and the connections between us.
