It’s time to open up Chapter II. Please join us for an evening of poetry celebrating Grief + Love.

With feature poets, and an open mic for you to share your own stories, this will be a forum for yarning and laughing and crying together. We are here for your transcendence and your bitterness.

This evening is hosted by City of Ryde Artist-in-Residence @tom_isaacs_art and Gadigal-based poet @jgooseberrye. Tom and Jeremiah spend a lot of time talking about grief and love, and they believe in creating space to discuss both grief and love more openly.

Date: 1 October 2026

Time: 6:30pm, Doors open and sign up for open mic opens. 7pm, event begins.

Location: 8 Turner St, Ryde NSW 2122.

The standard ticket price is $10 -- the ticket price goes towards paying artists and includes a donation to Roses in the Ocean. Community tickets are also available free of charge – our priority is welcoming you to participate in this space. Please, we want you to come even if ticket price is a barrier.

A portion of all ticket sales from this event will be donated to Roses in the Ocean, a national suicide prevention organisation led by people with lived experience of suicide.
