Why I Created The Unfurling Woman

Life has a way of bringing us back to ourselves. Sometimes it is a relationship ending, our children growing up and needing us differently. A career that no longer feels aligned, perimenopause, menopause, loss and burnout. Or simply a feeling that the life you have built no longer fits the woman you are becoming.

Transitions often bring the bigger questions to the surface:

Who am I now?

What do I need?

What do I want from this next chapter?

Why do I keep finding myself in the same patterns?

They can be uncomfortable because the ways we have always navigated life just doesn't do it for us anymore. The strategies that once protected us begin to feel exhausting, and we find ourselves looking for a different way.

The Unfurling Woman grew out of my own curiosity to better understand myself. Looking at my experiences through the lens of the nervous system and somatic work has helped me make sense of patterns that, for a long time, I simply thought were part of my personality.

I do not see myself as someone with all the answers. I am still learning too. But I have experienced how powerful it can be to understand why we respond the way we do, to meet ourselves with more compassion, and to discover that many of our protective patterns once made perfect sense.

My hope is that this becomes a space where you can do the same. A place to slow down, explore your own inner world with curiosity, and leave with a deeper understanding of yourself and practical tools to support you long after the program has finished.

What We'll Explore Together

Over four weeks we'll explore the patterns, protective responses and beliefs that shape the way we relate to ourselves, others and the world around us.

Each session includes education, guided self-inquiry, nervous system practices, experiential exercises and breathwork, creating opportunities to understand yourself not just intellectually, but through lived experience.

Week One - Understanding Your Nervous System

We begin by exploring the foundations of nervous system regulation and the body's built-in survival responses.

Together we'll look at the roles of fight, flight, freeze and fawn, how these patterns can show up in everyday life and why they often persist long after the original threat has passed.

You'll begin mapping your own nervous system landscape and learn practical tools to support regulation and self-awareness.

Week Two - The Stories We Carry

Many of our beliefs, coping strategies and ways of relating to ourselves are formed early in life.

This week we explore how our experiences shape the stories we carry about ourselves, others and the world around us.

Through guided reflection, somatic practices and breathwork, we'll begin bringing awareness and compassion to the younger parts of ourselves that may still be influencing the present.

Week Three - Triggers and Protective Patterns

Sometimes our strongest reactions reveal the places within us that need our attention most.

This week we'll explore emotional triggers, protective behaviours and the patterns that developed to help us navigate discomfort, rejection, disappointment and uncertainty.

Rather than judging these parts of ourselves, we'll learn to understand them with greater curiosity and compassion.

Week Four - Integration & Self-Trust

Our final week is about bringing everything together.

We'll explore parts work, integration practices and ways to continue supporting yourself beyond the program.

The intention is not to leave with all the answers, but with a deeper relationship to yourself, a greater capacity to meet life's challenges and practical tools you can continue returning to long after the program ends.

What You'll Leave With

By the end of our time together you'll have:

A clearer understanding of your nervous system and stress responses

Greater awareness of the patterns that shape your behaviours, relationships and decision making

Practical breath and regulation tools you can use in everyday life

A deeper sense of self-compassion and understanding

Increased confidence in recognising and responding to your needs

A workbook filled with reflections, insights and practices to continue supporting your growth

The experience of being held within a supportive community of women walking a similar path

What Makes This Different?

There is no shortage of information available today and many of us have some conceptual understanding of nervous system work. Yet this knowledge alone does not create change.

The Unfurling Woman combines neuro education, somatic practices with lived experience.

Over four weeks we explore the relationship between the nervous system, the body, breath and behaviour. Rather than simply learning concepts, you'll have opportunities to notice how these patterns show up within your own experience and develop practical ways of working with them.

This is not a space for fixing yourself. It is a space for reconnection and remembrance.

Who This Is For

The Unfurling Woman is for women who are curious about themselves. Women who sense there is more beneath the surface of their reactions, relationships and recurring patterns.

You may find yourself here if:

You are navigating a season of change, whether that's motherhood, perimenopause, relationship shifts, career transitions or simply a growing sense that something is asking for your attention.

You find yourself caught in familiar cycles and wonder why they keep repeating.

You are interested in personal growth but are looking for something that includes the body, not just the mind.

You want practical tools as well as deeper understanding.

You are ready to explore yourself with honesty, compassion and curiosity.

No previous experience with breathwork, nervous system work or somatic practices is required.

Only a willingness to show up and meet yourself where you are.

Who This Is Not For

This program may not be the right fit if:

You are looking for a quick fix or immediate transformation.

You are seeking therapy, crisis support or treatment for a mental health condition.

You are not currently willing or able to engage in self-reflection.

You are hoping someone else will provide the answers for you.

The intention of this work is not to tell you who you are.

It is to help you develop a deeper relationship with yourself so that your own wisdom becomes easier to access and trust.

A Trauma-Informed Approach

Everything shared within this program is offered through a trauma-informed lens.

You will always be invited rather than pressured into any practice or exercise. We encourage engagement, but you are always in control of your own level of participation.

Relational touch may be introduced as a supportive tool in this space, but it is entirely optional. It will only ever occur with your explicit, verbal permission, and you retain the right to change your mind or withdraw consent at any time.

The intention is to create a supportive environment where you can explore at a pace that feels appropriate for you.

More Than Information

Understanding why we do what we do can be valuable.

Learning how to recognise those patterns within ourselves, respond differently and build new pathways takes practice.

Each session includes opportunities for reflection, discussion, embodied practices and breathwork so that learning becomes something you experience rather than simply understand.

The Power of Community

There is something powerful about discovering that you are not the only one. Many of the struggles we carry privately are shared by others.

While everyone's journey is unique, being witnessed and supported by a group of women exploring similar themes can bring a sense of connection, validation and belonging that is difficult to create alone.

Breath As A Bridge

Breathwork is woven throughout the program as a practical way of connecting with the body and nervous system.

Your breath is always with you.

It can become a resource for awareness, regulation and self-connection long after the program has ended.

We acknowledge the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation as the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and journey. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging as well as to all First Nations’ communities who contribute to the life of the area and planet.
