Experience the Birrarung in a new way through Body of Water, a unique recorded audio walk that invites you to slow down, listen and connect more deeply with the river.
Created by N'arweet Professor Carolyn Briggs AM, Alliance of Praxis Research and Troy Innocent, this self-guided audio experience shares stories of the Birrarung's past, present and future, encouraging participants to explore the river through reflection, imagination and play.
Meeting as a small group, you'll journey together while listening to the audio on your mobile phone, pausing along the way to reflect, share insights and experience the river from fresh perspectives.
Throughout the walk, you'll be invited to collect, connect and engage with a watery companion, learn about the historical and cultural significance of the Birrarung, and imagine hopeful possibilities for its future.
Part storytelling, part walking experience and part shared reflection, Body of Water offers a thoughtful and immersive opportunity to deepen your relationship with one of Melbourne's most treasured waterways.
Please bring a fully charged mobile phone and headphones or earbuds for the best experience.
This event is proudly hosted by Future Play Lab.
