Fat Freddy’s Drop bring their Based On A True Story 21st Anniversary Tour to Fremantle. The tour marks the band’s return to the stage after the 2025 death of chief Chris ‘MU’ Faiumu, and revisits Based On A True Story, their 2005 album of ten future-funk tracks. Formed in 1999 from Wellington’s underground dance-music scene, the independent Aotearoa New Zealand group draw on reggae, dub, soul, techno and jazz in their live sound. Sydney seven-piece Sub-Tribe supports, blending deep bass with reggae, blues, jazz-hop, dancehall, jungle and drum and bass.
