Crowne Plaza Geelong Interior Design Tour

Fri 2 Oct 10am - 11:30am

33 Smythe St, Geelong

This exclusive Geelong Design Week experience invites guests to explore the creative process that shaped the city’s newest hotel.

Walk the floors of Crowne Plaza Geelong with Marcia Ascencio from global architecture firm Woods Bagot, First Nations artist Robert Young and local artist Kate Robertson. Enjoy an informal Q&A and morning tea in Skyline Bar!

Attendees will uncover the interior design strategies that celebrate the hotel's position on the waterfront and connection to Culture and Country.

The interiors are purposefully shaped to echo the rhythm and character of Geelong’s waterfront setting, drawing in natural textures, coastal hues and sculptural forms that anchor the hotel firmly within its landscape.

Every detail speaks to a sense of place, creating an immediate connection to the hotel's surrounding.

This walking tour offers a rare look behind‑the‑scenes of Crowne Plaza Geelong from 10am-11am, finishing with an informal Q&A and morning tea in Skyline Bar from 11-11.30am.

All event proceeds will go to our charity partner Geelong Foodshare. The morning tea in Skyline Bar is proudly sponsored by Crowne Plaza Geelong. We would like to thank Woods Bagot, Robert Michael Young and Kate Robertson for donating their time for this event.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming event experience for all. Crowne Plaza Geelong is fully wheelchair accessible. Hearing loops are available in dedicated spaces.

Gender-neutral restroom facilities are available throughout the venue.

To further support accessibility and participation, up to 10x complimentary tickets can be arranged for students and First Nations people upon request. To access a free ticket, please email eventsgeelong@ihg.com and tell us what inspires you about the interior design tour and why you'd like to attend.
